AI chat from off-grid
Send a question from your ZOLEO and get an AI-generated answer back, which is useful when you have no connectivity and a real problem to solve.
A macOS menubar app that forwards your incoming iMessage/SMS and missed calls to your ZOLEO address, and lets you use AI chat from the backcountry. Bundled, readable, and only during the window you choose.
Off-Grid Digest is a free, open-source project we built and maintain for the ZOLEO community. It extends what a ZOLEO device can do without touching the hardware or the service. No accounts, no middleman, and no data leaving your Mac. We are glad to collaborate with the ZOLEO team and with anyone building in this space.

Off-Grid Digest lives in the macOS menu bar. Set your off-grid window, point it at your ZOLEO email address, add your ZOLEO number, and leave it running. There is no dashboard to sign into and no account to create.
Off-Grid Digest runs on your Mac and monitors your regular Messages and Call History for messages sent to your normal phone number. It bundles them into a single digest and delivers it to your ZOLEO automatically. Your main contacts can still use your ZOLEO number. Everyone else just texts your regular number, and Off-Grid Digest handles the rest.
Your Mac stays home and does the work. Messages and missed calls arrive through the carrier and iMessage as usual, Off-Grid Digest bundles them, and they reach your ZOLEO as a single email digest.

Enable a start and end time so forwarding only runs while you’re away.
Skips group chats by default to reduce noise and cost on satellite links.
Shows filenames and types so you know what you missed.
Appends a list of missed calls, with timestamp and number.
Toggle enabled, set dates, and edit the forwarding email quickly.
Everything runs on your Mac. No accounts, no cloud, no telemetry.
Off-Grid Digest reads your local Messages and Call History databases solely to build the email you send to yourself using your own personal email.
The GitHub repository for this project is public and open source. You’re free to clone or fork it, review the code, and run it locally. Please review the README for setup, permissions, and configuration details before using.
